Which platforms does Aniimo run on, and when did each launch?
Aniimo launched in two waves. The PC, console and cloud build opened first, and the phone build followed a week later. Pawprint Studio lists the console generation as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not the previous generation.
| Platform | Storefront | Launch | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Steam, Epic Games Store | 16 September 2026, 10:00 UTC+8 | Preload opened 14 September. At least 40GB free space, SSD recommended. |
| PS5 | PlayStation Store | 16 September 2026 | Native version, not a cloud stream. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Store | 16 September 2026 | Native version with Quality and Performance modes. |
| Cloud | Cloud client | 16 September 2026, 10:00 UTC+8 | Shares account data with the PC version. |
| iOS, Android | App Store, Google Play | 23 September 2026 | Same account, separate download. Device minimums are listed on the store page. |
Official The official announcement uses 16 September for the PC and console launch. The Steam page has shown 15 September, which is the storefront date rather than the server opening date. Use 16 September when comparing schedules.
Does crossplay work everywhere?
Yes, with one condition. Cross-platform multiplayer, online co-op and PvP are supported across the PC, console, cloud and mobile builds. The condition is the server region: a player on an Asia-Pacific shard cannot group with a player on an Americas shard, even on the same platform. The game does not merge regions automatically.
Two account rules are worth separating:
- PC and cloud share data. The cloud client is an extension of the PC account, so progress carries over.
- Console and mobile cross-save is not announced. No official text confirms that a PS5 profile opens on iOS, or that an Xbox profile opens on Android. Treat those as separate profiles until Pawprint Studio publishes a statement.
Before blaming lag on the game, confirm the server region on both ends. The official performance guidance lists region mismatch as the first thing to check when actions feel delayed but the frame rate is fine.
Related: Holo-Battle Interlink is the weekly co-op mode where crossplay matters most, and Giga-Egg PvP is the three-team contest with the tightest region requirement.
What is the full PC keyboard map?
Three binds are confirmed by official material: C for Twine, H for the team screen and M for the map. Most of the rest comes from the 1.0 client help extraction, which is a single-source list. The distinction matters because the Beta handbook used a different Esc behavior.
| Action | Key | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Twine / untwine | C | Official |
| Team screen | H | Official |
| Map | M | Official |
| Main menu | Esc | Client help |
| Aniimo management | P | Client help |
| Sprint | Left Shift (hold) | Client help, two sources |
| Switch field Aniimo | 1โ4 | Client help |
| Skill 1 | Q | Client help |
| Skill 2 | E | Client help |
| Ultimate | R | Client help |
| Mobility skill | T | Client help |
| Chain ultimate | Y | Client help |
| Basic attack | Left mouse button | Client help |
| Team behavior mode | J | Client help |
| Lock target | Tab | Client help |
| Interact, or quick capture during BREAK | F | Client help |
| Bag | B | Client help |
| Character screen | I | Client help |
| Quests | L | Client help |
| Log | V | Client help |
| Show cursor | Alt (hold) | Client help |
| Photo mode | F7 | Client help |
| Quick screenshot | F8 | Client help |
Version note In the Beta handbook, Esc opened Aniimo management. In the 1.0 client, Esc opens the main menu and P opens Aniimo management. Guides that still print the Beta version are out of date on that one key.
What is the Xbox and PS5 controller map?
The controller table is a client-help extraction, and only the Twine bind has a second independent source. Pawprint Studio has said that controller button prompts are still being finished, and no official console manual exists. Treat every row below as provisional except where noted.
| Action | Xbox | PS5 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twine / untwine | RT | R2 | Client help plus second source |
| Capture mode | LT | L2 | Client help, single source |
| Skill 1 | LB | L1 | Client help, single source |
| Skill 2 | RB | R1 | Client help, single source |
| Switch to Aniimo 1โ4 | D-pad up, right, down, left | D-pad up, right, down, left | Client help, single source |
| Confirm, jump, climb | A | X | Client help, single source |
| Back, sprint | B | Circle | Client help, single source |
| Attack, cancel climb | X | Square | Client help, single source |
| Track | L3 | L3 | Client help, single source |
| Lock target | R3 | R3 | Client help, single source |
| Mobility skill | X + A | Square + X | Client help, single source |
| Chain ultimate | Y + B | Triangle + Circle | Client help, single source |
| Menu | Long-press for radial wheel | Long-press for radial wheel | Client help, single source |
Unverified Two binds are missing from every published list: the dedicated ultimate key and the system menu key. The radial wheel covers the menu, and the ultimate can be reached from the on-screen skill display, but the dedicated binds are not printed. The in-game Settings, Controls screen is the authority.
How do you untwine?
Press the Twine key again. On PC that is C; on controller it is RT or R2. There is no separate cancel action, no long-press variant and no resource cost. The state change is instant outside of combat animations.
Three details prevent most of the confusion:
- Sprint is not untwine.
Left Shiftis a held sprint, and older guides that said it canceled Twine are wrong. - Untwine does not reset skills. Cooldowns continue to tick while the player is back in Command Mode.
- The Giga-Egg has its own rule. A player twined to the egg cannot use active skills, only dash, and the egg drops when the carrier is defeated.
If the button appears to do nothing, check whether a cutscene or a menu has input focus. Alt-tabbing on PC can leave the game in a state where the first press dismisses the overlay instead of toggling Twine.
Is Aniimo free to play?
Yes. Aniimo is free to download and play on every supported platform. The shop sells cosmetic items, convenience items and paid egg and cube variants, but no progression system requires a purchase. Prismana forms have a free route through Nurture and daily charges, and every guide on this site is written for a player who spends nothing.
The free-to-play label also applies to the cloud client: it is a streaming version of the same account, not a separate subscription product. Platform store pages may still offer paid bundles, which are optional.
For the collection side of the same account, see Prismana hunting and materials and currency.
How do mobile controls work?
The mobile build uses on-screen touch controls. Official material documents the function set, not a fixed layout: attack, skill buttons, dodge and sprint, interact, capture and Twine all exist as touch actions, and the HUD is arranged for the device rather than printed as one universal map.
That means two things for players switching from PC:
- The actions are the same, but the muscle memory is not. Expect to relearn Twine placement first, because it is the most-used toggle.
- Button positions can differ by device and by HUD settings. A screenshot from another phone is not a reliable control reference.
Community Mobile players commonly report that the touch build is best for collection and Homeland routines, while precision BREAK timing stays easier on a controller or keyboard. That is a comfort judgement, not a performance claim.
Next: the Twine and BREAK combat guide explains what the toggle actually does in a fight, and the beginner guide puts the first hour in order.
