Privacy Policy

This site collects almost nothing, and this page says exactly what "almost nothing" means.

Who operates this site

Aniimo Field Guide is a static, hand-written guide to Aniimo, operated by the independent publisher of Aniimo Field Guide at yqin1090@gmail.com. This policy covers what happens when you read a page, change the theme or write to that address. Advertising served by Google and pages reached through outbound links follow those providers' own policies.

Information the site collects directly

There are no accounts, comments or contact forms, and no request for a name, postal address, phone number or birth date. The only personal information the publisher receives is what you choose to put in an email: your address, whatever you sign, and the message itself. It is used to answer you and, where relevant, to correct a page.

The optional update request on the home page submits nothing to a server. It opens a pre-filled message in your own email application; nothing reaches the publisher unless you press send.

Local storage

Two values are stored in your browser's local storage, not in cookies:

  • aniimo:theme — your choice of light or dark theme, kept so the choice survives a page load.
  • aniimo:cookie-consent — a flag recording that you dismissed the cookie banner, so it stops reappearing.

Local storage stays on your device, is not sent with page requests, and cannot be read by the publisher. Clearing site data removes both values; the theme resets and the banner may return.

Cookies and Google AdSense

The site's own code sets no cookies. When advertising is active, the site uses Google AdSense. Google and third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.

That includes the DoubleClick DART cookie, which lets Google and its partners serve ads to users who have visited this site. Vendors may also use web beacons or similar identifiers and may collect the IP address, browser type, pages viewed and time of visit that such technology exposes. The publisher does not control those cookies, receives no individual data from them, and cannot link them to email correspondence.

Google describes its own processing at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your advertising choices

Opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info. The Network Advertising Initiative offers another multi-company opt-out at networkadvertising.org/choices.

Opting out makes advertising less relevant, not absent. Browsers can also block or delete cookies and clear local storage, which may reset the theme and banner on this site.

Log data from the host

The host keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser, requested URL, referring page, time and status code. They are used for security, error diagnosis and aggregate traffic counts. The publisher sees summary data where the host offers it, builds no visitor profile and does not combine logs with email. Retention follows the host's policy.

Analytics

The site currently runs no analytics: no Google Analytics tag, pixel, heatmap or session recorder. Traffic understanding comes only from the host logs above. If a tool is added, this policy and the cookie notice will be updated before it goes live.

Children under 13

This site is not directed to children under 13. There are no accounts, chat features or child-oriented activities, and no knowing collection of their information. COPPA parental consent is avoided by not collecting the data at all. If a child has emailed the site, write to yqin1090@gmail.com and the message will be deleted.

Your rights in the EEA and the UK

Under the GDPR or UK GDPR, server logs rest on legitimate interest in site security; advertising cookies on consent where required; email processing on responding to your request. You may access, correct, erase, restrict, object, port and withdraw consent by writing with the subject "Privacy request". You may also complain to your supervisory authority.

Your rights in California

The site does not sell personal information as the CCPA defines a sale, offers no financial incentives and does not share data for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may request to know, delete, correct or opt out, and will not be discriminated against. Because the site holds no account data, a request will usually return only the email you sent, or nothing.

How long information is kept

Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer the request and any follow-up, then deleted. A correction thread may be kept longer as an editorial record. Server logs follow the host's retention policy. Local storage remains on your device until you clear it.

International transfers

Hosting and email may involve services outside your country, so processing can cross borders to jurisdictions with different data protection laws. Those transfers are limited to the email you send and routine log data. Where safeguards are required, the publisher relies on those offered by the hosting and email providers.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change when the site adds or removes a service, changes hosting or starts working with a new advertising partner. The "Last updated" date always reflects the current version. Material changes will be described here and in the cookie notice before they take effect.
